We are Proud to introduce the Staff and Crew of the M/V Coral Star In Panama.  Their task is to make you as welcome and comfortable as possible during your stay with us.

 

Captain Donald S. Perkins
Captain M/V Coral Star
Scuba Diving Instructor and Guide

Captain Donald grew around the Great Lakes (in-on-and under the water) while operating power and sail boats for pleasure, work and guiding.  For twenty four years, Captain Donald has been a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer.  He holds numerous other certifications from IANTD and TDI for re-breather and advance gas technology.  He retired from the United States Army with both active and reserve duty time.  For twenty years he has been a Volunteer Fireman and First Responder.  He has a long time background of outfitting and guiding guests on both water and land based operations.  Captain Donald's favorite type of fishing is spin casting and fly fishing for the numerous inshore species that Panama has to offer.  He currently holds a 215 ton Masters license and has been working with the M/V Coral Star since 1987.


 

Alcides Murray
Ships First Mate

Duties of Air Conditioning,Dive Master, Electronics Technician, Bartender  Has been with Coral Star Family since 1997.


Basil Johnson
Ships Bosun's Mate

Room Service, Cleaning and Laundry Has been with the Coral Star Family since 1997.


Arturo Renovales
Ships Engineer

Maintenance of all mechanical devices aboard the ship.  Responsible for all maintenance for the Coral Star Operation.  Has been with the Coral Star Family since 1997


Chef Andy

Andy comes from San Blas area.  Andy was at the Hotel Grand National in David, Chiriqui employed from 1995 to 2005 overseeing and operating their kitchen.  Most of Andy's background has been working for the Canal zone and US Military areas.  People who were stationed in this area may recognize him if they went to the US Officers Club or NCO Club. He also moved around to the different Military Bases or Posts when they were doing special parties or needed an extra hand.  He spent 15 years working for the US government in the Canal Zone until he was released due to cut-back and the turn-over of the Canal Zone to Panama.
