Tony  is a free lance writer and photographer. He has traveled to Panama many times. We are sure you have seen his articles in Marlin Magazine and Saltwater Sportsman. Tony just loves to pop and jig in our little "fishing hole". Don't get us wrong, he's a master at bill fishing, as well. But, his favorite fishing in our area is our inshore species. Who knows, maybe he'll get a picture of your "big one" for his next article!  Click here to read Tonys' letter to you!

Jim Scarlata:

International Angler and Lecturer also known as the Master Caster.  He is a World Class Casting Champion in accuracy and long distance casting, so don't miss his one-on-one casting instruction.  Jim has been in the fishing industry for some 40 years.  He is known for his very in depth fishing knowledge and skills.  Jim can captivate a crowd on most fishing subjects, like knots, lines and big game fish fighting techniques.  He is a past Master Instructor for Western Outdoor News a very well known fishing magazine.  Jim has been associated with the Coral Star since its inception, and even before when it was called the Coiba Explorer.  Each year Jim conducts a big game fishing school aboard the Coral Star where each evening different topics are discussed, such as: casting, knots, fighting techniques and the different lines (including spectra lines).  He will teach you how to join dissimilar lines, instruct you on 4-5 of the most important knots you should know for both fresh and salt water applications.  Oh, and by the way, Jim has caught some huge fish some over 1,000 lbs.  So, come join Jim Scarlata aboard the Coral Star.  You won't regret it!
